About
Claire Moreno Garden Design

I trained in Garden Design at the 'Garden Design School' at Painshill Park in Surrey, studying under award-winning designers Robin Templar-Williams and Moira Farnham, passing with distinction.

My interest in gardening started over 6 years ago, growing veg in my London allotment. I studied for my RHS certificate in Horticulture in the evenings while still working in the Media Industry, and then, exploring the possibility of horticulture as a career, I came across the Women's Farm and Garden Association's WRAGS scheme and decided to apply and become a trainee Gardener.

I was lucky enough to spend a wonderful year training in the extensive gardens of Belmont House near Faversham in Kent under their head gardener Graeme Watts. As well as developing my horticultural knowledge and practical gardening skills, working in their 3 acre walled garden, designed by Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd, taught me to appreciate the difference a beautifully designed garden can make, sparking an interest and passion in design which ultimately lead to me becoming a designer myself.

As well as designing I also work as a Gardener in several gardens in the West Malling area, a couple of which opens for the National Garden Scheme (NGS). I combine my knowledge of design and horticulture to create beautiful, practical gardens which will work for my clients, whether they want maintenance free or are passionate plant lovers like myself.

After meeting the BBC Radio Kent Sunday Gardening Show team when exhibiting at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in 2015, I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest presenter for the show, live from Hampton Court, the following year.

I am a pre-registered member of The Society of Garden Designers.

“Claire has proved to be very skilful in her choice of planting and planning, and has incorporated so many clever ideas to develop our garden. The garden has gone from strength to strength under her care.”

Mrs Masters, West Malling.
